Sclerotherapy with Asclera
Asclera Before and After Pictures |

What is Asclera?
Asclera is a prescription medicine that is used in a procedure called Sclerotherapy
to remove unwanted veins on your legs. It is administered by a healthcare provider to treat two types of veins:
- Uncomplicated spider veins (very small varicose veins less than 1 mm in diameter)
- Uncomplicated small varicose veins (1 to 3 mm in diameter) known as reticular veins.
How does Asclera Work?
Asclera is the only FDA approved sclerosing agent
that is injected into the vein. Asclera causes the blood platelets to attach to the lining
of the vessels resulting in the blood vessel clotting. Over time, the clotted vein will be replaced with tissue.
Asclera Treatment Information
The Asclera Treatment typically
consists of a 15 to 30 minute session. One injection is usually administered
per inch with mulitple injections per session.
Repeat treatment(s) may be necessary to achieve sucessful results or if the extent of your varicose veins requires more than
10 mL of Aslcera be used.

After treatment with Asclera it is recommended that you wear compression stockings on the treated leg(s) continuously for 2-3 days and for 2-3 weeks during the day time.
You will also be advised to walk for 15-20 minutes immediately after the procedure and daily for the next few days.
