What is Photo Rejuvenation?

The Photo Rejuvenation procedure, also known as a Photo Facial, is a series of intense light pulses (IPL) that are absorbed by abnormally enlarged vessels or pigmentation as they make way through the skin’s surface. The heat of the light pulses weakens the enlarged vessels or lesions which triggers normal healing progression. Lesions can form and will darken before being absorbed by the body or flaking off. This process causes no damage to the skin.

The Photo Rejuvenation Treatment

The area to be treated is prepared by cleansing and applying a cool gel. The pulses of light (IPL) are then distributed to the treatment area varying from 15 to 30 minutes. At the completion of the photo facial procedure at Visage' MEDISPA in Setuaket, NY , the gel is removed from the skin and purified. A cool compress may be applied to the area after the photo facial to sooth sensitive skin. Daily activities can be resumed immediately following a Photo Facial Procedure.
